THE JAZZ KINGS The Jazz Kings are a 4 piece group of experienced players who’s aim is to bring
acceptable jazz based music to a wider audience. The repertoire includes George
Benson, Wes Montgomery, Bob James, Stevie Wonder, Joe Sample and much
more, vocals as well as instrumentals.
The Jazz Kings are:
JEFF WRAIGHT – keyboards. Jeff’s career includes many years on cruise ships
(including 3 years on the QE2) acting as MD for a vast array of artistes. Also MD for
‘The Rocky Horror Show’ during the 90s. Recently MD’d for the ‘Joe Cocker’
tribute band.
JIM BARR – Bass. Jim started his bass playing career as a session musician
developing a strong interest in jazz. He has played with many big bands and has
toured extensively in the UK and Europe. Currently the go-to bassist for many
bands in the south-east.
IAN DIBBEN – Guitar. Played in many bands since his teens – a stint in Germany,
replaced Peter Frampton in cult 60s band “Moon’s Train’ (managed by Bill
Wyman). Recorded with piano virtuoso Roy Budd, did a 7 month season at the
London Palladium in Anita Harris’s backing band.
DAVE PIPER – Drums. Dave has played drums in many bands in the south-east
and also as a keyboardist/vocalist has toured the UK and Europe.
