Lots of our customers like to take a litre or two of their favourite beer home with them. In order to guarantee our product reaches their destination in tiptop condition, we do two things. Firstly, we use a special tube to dispense the beer, which fills the container from the bottom. It’s a gentle (and occasionally time consuming) process that ensures we lose as little of the natural CO2 as possible. And then there are our bottles, which are made from PET (polyethylene terephthalate) – a strong, recyclable plastic that sandwiches an additional layer of polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) to reduce the amount of oxygen permeating the vessel. In short, your take out will withstand considerable pressure and remain carbonated for a few days until opened.
Our take-outs are available in five sizes. 1.5 litre and 2 litre bottles can be provided at any time, using the procedure described above. The 5, 10, and 20 litre kegs are a little more fiddly and usually require 24 hour notice (order over the bar or give us a ring on 01273 441297). We charge by percentage and discounts are applied according to volume. A 1.5 litre (2.63 pts) bottle of 3.8 % Dark Star Hophead, for example, is £8.70 (£3.30 per pt), 2 litres (3.5 pts) of 4.7% Dark Star APA is £12.07 (£3.45 per pt) and 5 litres (8.8 pts) of 5.6% Burning Sky Aurora is £33.44 (£3.80 per pt)
You can also take home any of our bottles at a 10% discount
